Papa John’s launches new campaign to support ParalympicsGB team

Papa John’s has announced a new partnership with ParalympicsGB team ahead of the rescheduled Tokyo Games in summer 2021.

The pizza delivery chain has also unveiled a digital marketing campaign, We are Limitless, with the aim of raising £250,000 for the team.

“We are extremely proud to be partnering with ParalympicsGB at such an exciting time for the team. The inspirational work that ParalympicsGB does to support their athletes is so important and we’re delighted that we’re able to help by raising money and awareness,” said Giles Codd, marketing director of Papa John’s UK.

The brand has also enlisted three athletes, David Weir, Alfie Hewett and Alice Tai, as brand ambassadors.

One of the most recognisable faces of Paralympic sport, wheelchair athlete David Weir is a six-time gold medallist and eight-time winner of the London Marathon. The Tokyo Games next year will be his fifth appearance.

Alfie Hewett, a grand slam champion in wheelchair tennis, is preparing for his second Paralympic games after picking up two silver medals in Rio 2016. Swimmer Alice Tai is a gold medallist at European, World, Commonwealth and Paralympic level having won gold in the 4x100m medley at the Rio games.

David Weir commented: “I’m thrilled to be an ambassador for Papa John’s as preparations continue for Tokyo. As Paralympians, we are always looking to smash records and overcome adversity, and it’s great that Papa John’s is urging its customers to do the same and raise vital funds for Paralympic sport.”
