St Pierre Groupe donates brioche swirls worth £130,000

St Pierre Groupe has donated over 175,000 St Pierre Brioche Swirls to food re-distribution charity FareShare.

The Manchester-based bakery business is sending the brioche swirls, which have a retail value of approximately £130,000, to FareShare’s regional centres around the country.

The group has also ensured around 2,700 St Pierre Brioche Swirls for its long-standing charity partner Wythenshawe Food Bank.

“Our food partner support is invaluable in helping us tackle food hunger across the UK, especially during this difficult time,” commented Elina Kanela, senior marketing and communications officer at FareShare.

“We would like the thank St Pierre Groupe for the donation of delicious brioche swirls – something that I’m sure our charities and community groups will be excited to try, and no doubt enjoy!”

The donation to FareShare and Wythenshawe Food Bank is the latest in the fundraising efforts by St Pierre Groupe during the coronavirus crisis.

Paul Baker, founder of the business, has recently raised £1,500 for Forever Manchester by sharing his rather dramatic new haircut on LinkedIn. The group has also been supporting charities further from home by donating to the Care Bags for Care Homes scheme.

They have donated product to Scottish restaurant group Monterey Jack’s for their “Coffee for Heroes” initiative, which offers NHS workers in Scotland a complimentary coffee and St Pierre treat as a thank you for all their efforts.

Paul Baker said: “As a business that was born and continues to be based in the North West, it’s really important to us to work with and support our local and wider communities – and that support has never been as vital as it is now. This is very much the time to do what we can, to help others and to look after each other.”
