The Association of Convenience Stores (ACS) has developed a resource for retailers to help them support vulnerable customers living in their communities.

Retailers are urged to fill in and send the ‘Retailer Services Checklist’ to Alzheimer’s Society who will pass the information on to provide support for people living with and affected by dementia.

The checklist, available in both an interactive and printable format, include details about the products, services and support that they have available for their customers, particularly those who may be more vulnerable or who are self-isolating.

“We’re pleased to have support from Alzheimer’s Society and we’re also talking to other major charities about how the Retailer Services Checklist can fit in with their work to support vulnerable people,” said James Lowman, chief executive of the ACS.

The completed checklist can be sent to [email protected].

Retailers can also send the checklist to their local councils so that information about the services that their store offers can be communicated to the local community.

“By filling out this simple checklist, retailers can make their local council, charities and community groups aware of the services that they have available so that these can be accessed by the people that need them the most,” Lowman said.
