Filshill sees increased sales through Click & Collect

Filshill's has 187 stores across Scotland

JW Filshill said its Click & Collect ordering model has led to significant sales increases during the key pre-Christmas trading period.

Sales through Click & Collect were up 5.75 percent in December compared to the same month in 2018 and up an impressive 50 percent compared with the previous month (November). Soft drinks and vaping sales through Click & Collect saw 54.52 percent hike each in December compared to the same period in 2018.

“Retailers are really embracing technology and can see how it brings benefits to their business – in the case of Click & Collect, we do the hard work for them, meaning that they don’t have to spend time away from their stores searching for products and loading trolleys,” commented Craig Brown, retail sales director at Filshill.

Introduced last summer, the model provides a more convenient and accessible services for the cash and carry customers of the Glasgow-based wholesaler.

The Click & Collect lounge at the depot at Hillington, which allows customers to sit down with a coffee while they wait for their orders, has also been well received by the customers.

Mark Love, owner of KeyStore in Denny, near Falkirk, described the Click & Collect service as a positive move by Filshill. “Christmas trading was similar to the previous year for us but Click & Collect has been a great idea – and, I’m sure, will mean more business for Filshill.

“Instead of me heading to the nearest cash and carry if I was short of stock, I now do Click & Collect and jump in my van – by the time I have driven through to Glasgow, it’s ready and within an hour I’m back at the shop. It’s a great service and a real benefit for us.”

Orders can be made 24 hours a day at www.filshill.co.uk
