yfood offers liquid breakfast on the go for time-poor Brits

Working Brits are starting their day lacking important nutrition, according to new research which has revealed more than three quarters (86 per cent) skip breakfast, and not because of diets or fasting but because they simply don’t have time (40 per cent).

According to a study commissioned by Smart Food brand yfood, Brits miss out on breakfast nine times a month on average, with Gen Z (91 per cent) most likely to leave the house on an empty stomach.

As a nation that’s more health-conscious than ever, it’s surprising that half (50 per cent) of the 2,000 polled admit that they get so hungry on the way to work, they stop off for a packet of crisps for breakfast, while four in 10 (44 per cent) tuck into a packet of biscuits.

Despite this, over half (53 per cent) agree that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, with 54 per cent wishing there was a quicker and easier way to have healthy and balanced food in the morning.

Smart Food brand, yfood, was founded to provide busy people with a nutritionally complete product when they don’t have the time or availability to prepare a balanced meal. yfood includes a range of ready- to-drink meals, each of which include 26 vitamins and minerals and is high in protein and fibre.

“Getting this insight into our eating habits in the morning is really surprising – we all know that breakfast is an important mealtime and is our opportunity to feed our bodies with nutrients to set us up for the day ahead, but so many of us are not doing it,” said Paul Sloane, yfood UK & Ireland Country Manager.

Available in a range of flavours including Happy Banana, Fresh Berry, Smooth Vanilla and Classic Choco, yfood products have no added sugar and are lactose and gluten-free. yfood also has a dedicated vegan range. yfood’s portfolio of products are currently available at selected Co-Op and Nisa stores across the UK.
