Tupperware launches in UK retail for first time

Tupperware, the kitchen and homeware brand, is entering UK retail for the first time in its history.

As a household brand, Tupperware has been available in the UK through its iconic Tupperware Parties since the 1950s, which today remain a primary point-of-sale with more than two million representatives globally.

Tupperware will be launching a specific range of products, including its FREEZERMATES range, into UK retail of which the majority have been manufactured in Europe.

First launched in 1946 by Earl Tupper, today Tupperware operates in approximately 80 countries across five continents and with net sales of £1.3 billion (2021).

In response to consumers changing shopping habits, Tupperware’s new omnichannel approach will offer specific Tupperware products in UK retail stores and online through Amazon and Robert Dyas.

In Europe, Tupperware has successfully launched into major retailers, including Delhaize, Carrefour, Rewe, E.Leclerc, Continente & Cora, Costco and Boulanger, signalling an important shift in strategy that is already delivering sales results. The brand is currently in talks with the major UK supermarket chains and department stores.

Tupperware ECO+, one of the brand’s most innovative ranges made from a variety of sustainable, recycled, biobased and environmentally-conscious materials, will be included in the UK retail listing. The current ECO+ product portfolio includes the ECO+ Straw Set, ECO+ To-Go Cups, ECO+ Lunch-It Containers and Sandwich Keepers.

“With a 10-year guarantee, our products are made to last, and many UK households will no doubt have Tupperware in their kitchens from years gone by,” said Geoffroy Destexhe, managing director, Tupperware Belgium. “We build our range for use all year round, from back to school to Christmas, healthy eating to summer picnics. We will work quickly and flexibly with our retail partners to bring excitement to the fixture and act as a natural signpost with such a well-loved and widely known brand.”

For UK customers, Tupperware will be available both in-store and via its ecommerce website – www.tupperware.co.uk.
