Thorntons expands boxed chocolate range with new Thorntons Pearls

Ferrero UK has expanded Thorntons’ boxed chocolate range with the launch of Thorntons Pearls in two premium flavours – Hazelnut Delight and Salted Caramel Sensation.

Available from 2 August across grocery and convenience, the range offers shoppers the perfect treat to enjoy while sharing moments of delight with loved ones.

Ferrero said the new product is a must-stock for retailers who are looking to bolster their premium sharing ranges this year, as consumers seek out products from leading brands which deliver on great quality and taste.

“We have seen significant growth of 16 per cent in the Give to Share segment, which is currently worth £291m in the UK market,” Levi Boorer, customer development director at Ferrero, commented.

“The launch of Thorntons Pearls not only cements Thorntons’ leading brand position in boxed chocolate, but also serves to help drive sharing occasions by offering shoppers a high quality proposition alongside the existing Thorntons gifting range.”

The Salted Caramel Sensation variant features a gooey caramel filling, balanced with a hint of sea salt, and Hazelnut Delight has adelectably luxurious praline filling, enriched with roasted hazelnut.

Boorer added: “Through this launch we are aiming to give consumers a quality sharing chocolate experience. Developed using Thorntons expertise in caramel and Ferrero expertise in hazelnut, the two flavours – with a fine chocolate shell and delicious centre of taste and texture – are well placed to do just that.”

Thorntons Pearls are available at an RRP of £4.50 across grocery, wholesale, convenience, impulse and e-commerce, with support across multiple touchpoints including  TV, shopper activations, social activity and sampling.
