SPAR launches redesigned own-label Christmas range

SPAR has launched its new own-label Christmas range in a brand-new red livery.

Available in-store from yesterday (25 October), the newly redesigned Christmas range will ensure customers will easily identify their Christmas favourites, with the new livery aligning to the marketing creative in-store and online, the symbol group said.

The updated range has also received a handful of new incremental SKUs across several fresh food subcategories.

Officially the UK’s favourite festive treat, SPAR’s range of mince pies are key items for any Christmas range as the number one Christmas staple, and customers have the option to trade up to an all butter, indulgent line.

SPAR’s own label Luxury All Butter Mince Pies have been voted the ‘Best Classic Mince Pie’ for the second time in the BBC Good Food Christmas Taste Awards 2021 and joint winner in the ‘Best Classic Mince Pie’ category in the olive magazine Christmas supermarket awards 2021.

Available in stores now, SPAR is supporting the award wins on pack, with POS in store and digitally on all social channels.

SPAR has also launched five new frozen products as consumers continue to look for a value solution and aim to reduce food waste.

A range of new party food SKUs (SPAR Curly Fries, SPAR Potato Wedges and SPAR Corn on the Cob) will join the range and launch at the perfect time where party food sees a huge uplift during the festive season as people host more parties for dinner guests and get together to celebrate.

Additionally, two frozen fruit lines (SPAR Raspberries and SPAR Blueberries) will also be available along with the new party food. The NPD lines are all year round products.

On the food-to-go front, SPAR’s Limited Edition Sandwich programme continues this festive season with the return of the SPAR Turkey Feast and brand new SPAR Brie & Cranberry sandwich, which is suitable for vegetarians.

Both lines, available from 15 November, support SPAR’s year round partnership with Marie Curie. 10p from the sale of each sandwich will be donated to Marie Curie.

Celebrating with immediate family at home remains the number one planned activity for Christmas 2021, and the ‘making a meal’ target occasion will play a significant role in realising this activity.

SPAR is launching two new own label lines: SPAR Pigs in Blankets and SPAR Stuffing Balls to capitalise on this trend. These two new Christmas dinner staples, in-store from 13 December, will allow customers to target smaller occasions and embrace Christmas traditions.

Myles Mersh, SPAR UK Brand Manager, said: “We are anticipating a family festive season this year and as a result we are encouraging SPAR stores to engage with customers as early as possible to ensure they are front of mind when it is time to purchase.

“Our 2021 Christmas range covers a number of new incremental SKUs and a wide range of customer missions over the festive period, including meal trimmings, antipasti, party food, food to go, dips, confectionery, desserts and more.”

The SPAR Brand Christmas 2021 range will be supported in-store with digital and brand-new POS and marketing creatives to ensure maximum impact.
