SodaStream certified to display carbon footprint transparency label on machines

Sparkling water brand SodaStream is taking its mission to protect the planet one step further, by including a carbon footprint transparency label on the SodaStream Spirit, its best-selling sparkling water maker.

The environmental brand has received a Global Carbon Footprint Certification from The Carbon Trust, an independent body which provides guidance to achieving net zero. This implies that SodaStream can now officially display the Carbon Trust ‘Reducing Carbon Footprint’ label on its Spirit sparkling water makers, making it even easier for consumers to make informed and eco-friendly choices.

The ‘Reducing Carbon Footprint’ label serves as a visual mark of SodaStream’s actual achievements with regards to reducing the carbon footprint of its Spirit machine, and  demonstrates the brand’s ongoing commitment to the environment and to helping people lead sustainable lives.

SodaStream continues to lead by example in the environmental space, with every machine saving thousands of single-use plastic bottles from being used. What’s more, last Earth Day, the environmental brand pledged to eliminate 78 billion single-use plastic bottles by 2025.

Furthermore, this certification serves as a commitment to the future, as the use of the Carbon Reduction Label requires recertification every two years, whereby brands must demonstrate that the certified product continues to reduce carbon.

Karin Schifter-Maor, SodaStream’s Global CMO commented, “At the very moment our leaders are meeting at the UN Climate Change Conference in Glasgow, we are proud to be sharing our carbon impact data. It is a recognised, quantifiable measurement that is aligned with the brand’s continued climate action efforts.”
