    Refurbished Stalham convenience store opens

A new Nisa Local convenience store has been opened in Stalham, Norfolk by independent retailer James Cawdron.

The Cawdrons Nisa Local branch in the town’s high street is next door to Cawdrons Butchers, which the Cawdron family have successfully run for over 50 years.

The unit used to be occupied by the Stalham Shopper which closed over a year ago having previously operated as a Red Orange Fascia store.

The refit began at the end of the summer last year and the store officially opened just before Christmas with local resident and former British Lions Rugby Union star Tom Youngs in attendance for the ribbon cutting ceremony. Shoppers can also now benefit from a new direct access to the butchery to maximise the potential for both the butcher and convenience store.

Cawdrons Nisa Local offers eight bays of chilled food, five bays of chilled beers/wines, three cook freezers and an evolution electronic point of sale (EPOS) system newly installed. The store now boasts a full convenience offer to shoppers who have been wowed by the refurbishment.

The refurbishment also included new flooring and ceilings along with modern new lighting
throughout and the eye-catching new fascia outside along with full internal signage.

Mr Cawdron said of the new shop: “It is going to be open seven days a week – normally from 7.30am through to 8.30pm at night. We will eventually be doing local produce as well, so we are looking to source local suppliers.

“I’d like to thank Jim Gaughan from Nisa, as well as Secker and Sons, Monk Services, CJ Randall and David Pears, all of whom worked on the refurbishment of the shop.

“I’m delighted with how well the reopening of the store has been received in the local community and hope shoppers can now benefit from a dual shopping experience with the direct access to the convenience store and butchers.”
