    Police investigate ‘suspicious’ fire at Bristol convenience store

    Avon and Somerset Police has launched a criminal damage investigation following a fire in Bristol in the early hours of Sunday (31 July).

    Officers are appealing for any witnesses to the incident at a convenience store on Averay Road, Eastville.

    Both the fire service and police officers attended the scene after the blaze erupted at about 12.45am.

    “At this time we are treating the fire as suspicious. CCTV enquiries are being carried out,” police said in a statement.

    Police did not disclose whether there were any injuries after the fire. Witnesses or anyone who was in the area and may have dashcam footage is asked to call 101 and quote crime reference 5222182348.
