Steve Anderson, managing director of Phoenix UK has been appointed to executive board of Phoenix Group Europe.

Phoenix UK confirmed that Mr Anderson will continue as his current role within the UK along with his new responsibilities from 1st September.

The company is known for comprising of six brands across the primary and secondary care sectors, ensuring patients and the public have access to high-quality healthcare in the UK and across Europe

Speaking about his new role, Mr Anderson said: “I am delighted to join the Board and help drive our growth strategy across Europe.

“Over the last two years, Phoenix in the UK has implemented successfully a strategy to grow profitably; our performance has outstripped the market and main competitors in volume and value; we have won more contracts with manufacturers; we have introduced sector-leading innovations such as MediPAC and NuPAC.

“We have reorganised our management structures to become a more agile and responsive business; we have begun a journey to transform the performance and profitability of our retail network; we have delivered outstanding operational efficiencies in our distribution business.

“We have ambitious plans for the years ahead to build on that success. PHOENIX groups’ European subsidiaries have the same growth ambitions and therefore the UK’s experience and learnings will be useful.”
