A new business in a Norfolk market town has applied for permission to sell alcohol until 11pm most nights of the week.
Jana Market, which opened in November at 43 Market Place in Swaffham, is requesting an alcohol retail licence from Breckland Council.
The grocers and convenience store, which sells a range of British and European food and drinks, has asked if it can sell alcohol between 9am and 11pm on weekdays and Saturdays, and from 10am until 9pm on Sundays.
Business owner Jana Krupova, originally from the Czech Republic, said her shop had already received lots of good feedback, and that she was pleased by how eager local people had been to try the various eastern European foods she imports.
She added that if the licence is granted, she hopes to be able to sell a variety of British and European brands of alcohol, including Polish beer and Raki from Turkey.
The shop space was previously occupied by an Age UK charity shop.
The council is expected to issue a decision on the licence application in the new year.
