New dates announced for National Doughnut Week this year

The official National Doughnut Week has announced it will be moving the dates for its annual charity week from May to July. Due to recent developments in the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, National Doughnut Week will now be held from 10– 18 July 2021.

The charity week, sponsored by CSM Bakery Solutions, was unfortunately cancelled in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic but it is back in 2021, just with a new date.

National Doughnut Week raises vital funds for The Children’s Trust, the UK’s leading charity for children with brain injury. It is now in its 30th year, after being launched in 1992 by Christopher Freeman, co-owner of Dunns Bakery. Bakers from around the country will be taking part and early sign ups include Bird’s Bakery. It is hoped they will be joined in the fundraising week by bakers from across the country.

Cristiana Ballarini, CSM Bakery Solutions, Activation Director West, South & International said: “The one and only National Doughnut Week will now be taking place 10– 18 July 2021 and we hope that bakers from around the country sign up and help us raise much needed funds for The Children’s Trust. It’s been a tough year for charities which is why we want to change the dates to raise as much money and awareness as possible for The Children’s Trust, and we hope that even more bakers will take part this year.”

The last National Doughnut Week event in May 2019 raised over £32,000 with the help of hundreds of independent bakers, cafes and shops who sold delicious doughnuts for charity.

Registration is now available at http://www.nationaldoughnutweek.org/
