    Molson Coors expands cocktail RTD range with new partnership  

    Molson Coors is set to unveil two new ranges of hand-crafted organic cocktails in the UK, after securing an exclusive distribution partnership with US-based Miami Cocktail Company.

    The firm produces ready-to-drink (RTD) organic certified cocktails under the Organic Spritz and Small Batch Originals ranges.

    The former includes Margarita Spritz, Paloma Spritz, Mimosa Spritz, Sangria Spritz and Bellini Spritz. Crafted with premium organic ingredients, each 250ml can contains only 110 calories, with no added sugar and 4.0% ABV. They are also vegan friendly and gluten free.

    The Small Batch Originals line of bottled organic cocktails include Copper Pot Margarita (12% ABV), Sunset Sangria (9% ABV), and Blood Orange Mimosa (8.4% ABV), all available in 750ml formats.

    Ross Graham, chief executive and co-founder at Miami Cocktail Company, said: “We are excited to expand Miami Cocktail Company’s presence into one of the most discerning tastemaker markets in the world, and we are thrilled to have Molson Coors Beverage Company on board to lead those efforts.

    “Our plan is to start and focus in the UK, followed by select European markets and Australia. This partnership provides us with the expertise and routes-to-market to scale our brand properly.”

    Molson Coors said the latest additions to its portfolio will play into the opportunity in the ready-to-drink category which grew by 15 percent in value to £340 million in 2019.

    Ali Pickering, marketing director at Molson Coors Beverage Company, said: “There is a clear trend towards ready-to-drink, on-the-go formats but we’re seeing consumers want something more than just convenience. It’s the desire for exciting new flavours and experience-led drinks which give a more premium, craft feel – that little something extra.

    “The partnership with Miami Cocktail Company will embed us firmly into the higher-end cocktail market, and fulfils consumer demand for lower calorie, more natural ingredients that we’re increasingly seeing become a key driver of purchasing decisions.

    “We’d expect it to be a resounding hit with UK consumers given its great taste and Miami-chic look-and-feel. This new partnership with Miami Cocktail Company continues our strategy to selectively expand our portfolio beyond beer and drive innovation within the UK alcoholic beverage market.”

    The partnership follows Molson Coors announcing an exclusive partnership with Bodega Bay to further roll out its range of hard seltzers earlier this month.
