A masked man armed with a large knife attempted to rob a convenience store in Burton recently, police said on Tuesday (5).
Officers from Staffordshire Police said that they are investigating the incident which happened at Kang Stores on March 24.
A masked man entered the store near Calais Road, Burton-upon-Trent at around 8.30pm and demanded cash from the till, the police said in a report.
The man was in possession of a large knife, with a blade approximately 12 inches in length. He left the scene empty-handed.
The suspect (pictured) is described as black, approximately 5ft 8in tall and of a slim build. He was wearing all black clothing with a red t-shirt underneath.
Officers are currently investigating the possibility that this incident is linked to the previous robbery of a convenience store in the area – where £100 in cash and a 50g pouch of tobacco was stolen.

This incident happened only a few days earlier on Monday, March 21, when an employee was held at knifepoint at a store in Derby Road.
