Mars Wrigley UK has launched a new campaign for Mars Wrigley Sweetstake 2020, featuring legendary football commentator John Motson.
Motson, a regular fixture at football grounds around the country, has traded the press box for the comfier confines of his own home for the campaign, though.
In a suite of videos filmed on a mobile phone at his home in Hertfordshire, he lends his iconic voice to commentating on ordinary at-home scenarios including: the unenviable task of loading the dishwasher, tucking into a book before bed and a steamy shower scene!
Motson commented: “I’ve been fortunate to commentate on some of sport’s greatest moments over the years. I must admit, though, I didn’t think I’d ever be lending my skills to a setting involving a dishwasher – but I had a lot of fun doing it.”
The campaign has four films and will be activated in online video and social media.
Kerry Cavanaugh, marketing director at Mars Wrigley UK said: “We’ve all been missing football here at Mars Wrigley and we couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate the resumption of the season by bringing the legendary John Motson and, of course his coat, back to our screens.
“This year’s virtual Sweetstake offers consumers the chance to win millions of prizes and have a lot of fun while doing it. John’s videos are the perfect accompaniment to this activation.”
The popular Mars Wrigley Sweetstake on-pack promotion returns this year with top prizes of £20,000.
Sweetstake winners will also be contributing to the charity National Emergencies Trust (NET), with Mars Wrigley UK making a donation that matches the value of every prize claimed in order to reach the target donation of £500,000.
If the total matched value does not reach the target donation, the firm will make up the shortfall.
Running throughout summer 2020, the promotion will run across the following of brands: Mars, Revels, M&M's, Galaxy Minstrels, Maltesers, Twix, Galaxy Ripple, Snickers, Starburst, Skittles and Extra.
