A man was arrested in connection with an attempted robbery in a Louth convenience store.
Gary Cartwright, 44, of Northgate, has been arrested and charged next day after the incident at the Premier Express Store in Newmarket, Louth.
Cartwright allegedly entered the store at around 9 pm on 31 May, armed with an axe. He however had to flee empty-handed as the shop staff challenged his demand for cash.
Officers said they are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage or information relating to the incident. The offender left the scene in a red Fiat Punto with another man in the car.
