Lomond slashing more prices to help customers bounce back

Lomond: The Wholesale Food Co is continuing its ‘welcome back, giving back’ campaign for retail and foodservice customers by reducing prices on its core line.

Some the bestselling products are now up to 50% off with additional products being added to meet customer demand.

The wholesaler has also included a ‘Breakfast at Lomond’ discounted range which includes bacon, sausages, eggs, beans and more.

And in addition, the Glasgow-based business is also including a number of its most popular coffee shop range, including several of its most popular tray bakes and cakes.

“We were absolutely blown away by the response to our promotion during August,” said Barbara Henderson, director, Lomond: The Wholesale Food Co. “We know many of our customers are operating on much lower volumes than pre-Covid, so we wanted to help them out by heavily discounting prices on the products they most want to buy.

“We’ve been absolutely inundated with demand for these products, so we’ve added even more products to September’s promotion to cater for the demand.

“Redemption lentil soup is one of our top sellers at this time of year and at this new, discounted price, it costs our catering customers just 38p per portion so we’re expecting it to fly off the shelves!”

A customer testimonial on behalf of Lomond reads: “Since opening up after being closed for four and a half months, it is so refreshing to work with a supplier who works with you in a very surreal world.

“These offers are helping us to recover from our lost revenues and work in a very competitive retail environment in which every penny counts.”

Southowram Go Local retailer  donates breakfast meal to local school

A Southowram retailer has helped 100 children from the local primary school enjoy a hot breakfast through his retail connections with Parfetts, setting new benchmark of how a convenience store can impact its community.

Since buying the store in May 2024, Chatha has established it as a key part of the local community. He provided 100 Quaker Oat So Simple Porridge pots to Withinfields Primary School in Southowram to support the school's breakfast club.

Chatha, who attended Withinfields with his older brother and sister, was instrumental in helping to secure the breakfast pots through his retail connections with Parfetts.
