Lancashire-based wholesaler North West Wholesale has relocated to a new 20,000 sq ft purpose-built site in Burscough, Lancashire.
The independently-owned delivered wholesale business, which serves independent retailers, convenience stores and other food outlets, was previously operating from three warehouses, which it had outgrown.
“The move is a result of year-on-year growth and fitted in with our internal growth strategy,” reports quoted Tom Lumsden, managing director of the Sugro member, as saying.
“Our new premises has allowed us to bring all members of staff under one roof which has made us operationally much more efficient.
“We have equipped our warehouse with brand new pallet racking, giving us optimised storage space which will enable us to work even closer with our key suppliers and allow us to purchase a significantly higher quantity of goods on spec.”
North West Wholesale carries out deliveries using our own small fleet of vans however some of its customers prefer to click and collect from the depot. The other aspect of its business is purchasing short dated, clearance and residual and even out of date stock lots.
“We buy new, regular and clearance lines across grocery, ambient, chilled, frozen, soft drinks, confectionery, toiletries, household and catering categories,” states the company website.a
