An investigation has been launched following reports of a ram-raid at a Hull convenience store on Friday (14).

Humberside Police confirmed that Dodos on Endike Lane has been damaged caused by a van on Friday morning. The front of the shop has been severely damaged after the van is reported to have ‘caught’ the front shutters before driving away. The incident occurred during morning hours on Friday (14) though no one was injured or stolen during the incident.

However, the case is under investigation and local police has appealed witnesses to come forward.

Pictures from the scene show the front of the shop has suffered extensive damage with the sign having been ripped from the wall. Neighbours have also spoken of the people that run the shop as welcoming saying they are “always willing to help anyone” and “always friendly”. They said workers at the shop had spent much of the day clearing debris from incident which had left electrical wires dangling over the shopfront.

A spokesperson for Humberside Police said: “Officers are appealing for witnesses, cctv or dashcam footage following an incident at a convenience store on Endike Lane, Hull on Friday, October 14.

“At around 7.40am it is reported that a driver of a van had allegedly caused criminal damage to a shop by catching the front shutters in the vehicle whilst driving away. Thankfully, no one is believed to be injured and no items are reported to have been stolen.

“If anyone has any information about this incident or can provide cctv or dashcam footage of the area around the time, please contact us on our non-emergency number 101 quoting log number 79 of 14 October.”
