InPost apologises for delays as users get furious

InPost UK parcel

InPost UK today (Sept 26) apologised for recent delays, citing a "software integration issue", after second-hand shopping app users complained on social media, thus giving host convenience stores clarity on the situation.

Several users of Vinted UK were seen in outrage in several Facebook posts discussing the delays in the parcel services by InPost UK, particularly after the merger with Yodel.

Some even discussed the buzz that some drivers have walked out hence the delays.

Vinted Clothing UK wrote, "They have merged and I have been informed by my local Spar that they were told by current and previous drivers that some drivers have walked out over contracts.

"I have messaged Inpost to ask if this information is true but they have chosen to stay silent/ignore my message. Either way parcels are not being collected from lockers (I have 2 waiting currently in my area which have been there for 4 days!).

"Some areas are affected more than others, the Spar that take parcels near me have told me that when they reach capacity they have an emergency number to call so parcels are removed from store but they can’t promise when delivery will be made."

The post had more than 100 comments with different users sharing their delay stories.

One user wrote, "t's an absolute shit show literally seen a van in my area yesterday yet my parcel has been sat in their warehouse for 3 days !!"

Meanwhile, In Post UK stated on its website, "We want to apologise to all customers impacted by a software integration issue that resulted in delays within part of our network.

"Since isolating the root cause, our engineers have been working around the clock to put the correct fixes in place, and the additional resource we have deployed means the backlog has significantly decreased.

"With parcels moving fluidly through our network, and all of our lockers now fully operational, we are confident in our progress towards quickly resolving the situation.

"We are very aware of the delays and inconvenience we have caused, and for that we are truly sorry."

InPost acquired parcel delivery firm Yodel in May, a move that the two companies said would create one of the largest logistics firms in the UK.

At the time of the deal, InPost UK chief executive Neil Kuschel announced plans to expand and handle more than 300 million parcels a year, saying the company was "reshaping the future of parcel delivery".
