Golden Acre removes over 200 tonnes of sugar from GA yogurts

Golden Acre Foods said it has removed added sugar from their range of Fat Free yogurts, leading to the reduction of over 200 tonnes of sugar across a range of six products.

The move, which has been implemented this month, makes GA Fat Free yogurts in line with government guidelines and schools compliant.

“As a business we are committed to improving the health credentials of our products, our new recipe significantly reduces the sugar content, whilst retaining a delicious fruity taste and creamy texture,” Pat Clark, technical director at Golden Acre Foods, commented.

The products can be stored ambient, making them a popular product choice for stores with limited chilled space or for grab bag lunches many schools have implemented as a result of Covid-19.

Coming in three fruity flavours, Strawberry, Raspberry and Peach & Passionfruit, in both 100g & 150g pots, GA Fat Free yogurts are available from wholesalers and cash & carry outlets nationwide.
