According to local reports, the accused Richard Cartwright went to a One Stop store in Springfield Road, Sutton New Hall, and pulled out a small handgun which he pointed at the waist of the woman working there.

He then gave her ten seconds to open the till demanding all the money that was there. After she handed over cash he said it was not enough and took packets of cigarettes before getting into a taxi he had previously booked.

Apart from raiding a convenience store, the duo also has been accused of targeting elderly people by posing as police officers on multiple occasions. In one of such robberies, an elderly victim suffered swelling and two loosened teeth.
