    Deliveroo to recruit 15,000 new riders
    Deliveroo riders are self-employed who can earn an average £120 a day

    Deliveroo is looking for 15,000 new riders to join their team by the end of the year following the high demand of takeaway and online shopping deliveries since lockdown.

    Since March, the online delivery service has enlisted 11,5000 new restaurant and 16 supermarkets and grocers to their platform.

    In the last few months the Co-Op and Morrisons have both extended their partnerships with while McColl’s and Aldi are just one of many retailers to join.

    More than 50,000 riders are predicted to be employed by the company by the end of 2020, the company claims.

    Deliveroo chief executive Will Shu said: “Riders are heroes and we are so proud of the vital role that they are carrying out in their local communities during the pandemic.

    “It is fantastic that we can now recruit even more riders and will create a record 15,000 new opportunities by the end of the year.

    “With a record number of riders and restaurant partners on the platform, we can now reach even more amazing customers across the UK, delivering the food that people need and want.”

    Riders are self-employed and can earn above the national minimum wage, approximately £120 a day with tips included.
