Country Choice’s new sweet buns – new recipe, lower calories

Country Choice has added three new Sweet Buns to its confectionery portfolio. The new and improved products not only retain the delicious taste and quality that Country Choice customers and their consumers love, but also come with a notable reduction in calories.

What’s just as exciting is the more sustainable packaging upgrade. The Sweet Buns are now attractively presented in a recyclable FSC certified u-card with film wrap (as opposed to the original plastic RPET), further supporting Country Choice’s commitment to sustainability. The modern, visually appealing packaging design features vibrant colours and colour-coded labels for easy identification.

Individually pre-packed for convenience, the Sweet Buns come in cases of 24 and boast a three-day shelf life, along with a quick defrost time of just two hours. This makes them the perfect choice for all convenience retailers, but particularly those with a strong focus on coffee sales – merchandising the buns near a coffee machine is an excellent way for retailers to enhance their customers’ experience.

The new Sweet Buns come in three varieties. The Belgian Bun is a light, sweet bun with juicy sultanas, shiny fondant icing, topped with half a red glacè cherry, and has a subtle lemon aroma and taste. The Cinnamon Bun is a round doughy bun filled with sweet, woody cinnamon spice, topped with a soft cream cheese icing and a hint of lemon. Completing the trio is the Chelsea Bun, a sweet, fruity, round, swirled bun with currants and a mixed spice filling, topped with a slightly sticky glaze and crunchy nibbed sugar.

To ensure the best quality and flavour, remove the required number of buns from the outer case (do not remove the individual buns from their packaging) and allow them to defrost at ambient temperature for approximately one to two hours. Once defrosted, the Sweet Buns have a shelf life of the day of defrost plus three days. Retailers must apply the “Best Before” date to the product before placing it on display and should not display the products until they are fully thawed. The RRP for each Sweet Bun is £1.50.
