Camden Town Brewery renews partnership with Arsenal, launches fan-generated beer

Camden Town Brewery renews partnership with Arsenal, launches fan-generated beer

Camden Town Brewery is sticking to its Gunners with the announcement of the renewal of its partnership with Arsenal FC. So, to pay homage to Arsenal supporters everywhere, Camden is launching its latest beer: North London is Red Lager, a beer that celebrates its North London neighbours.

Designed by supporters, brewed by Camden, and made for Gooners everywhere to enjoy, the new beer has been created with beer and football supporters at the heart. Camden went out with a series of Arsenal-related questions on Instagram, and supporters voted for their favourite football moments, Arsenal icons, and matchday rituals, to create a supporter-generated brew that celebrates their beloved club.

Truly in a league of its own, North London is Red Lager is malty, hoppy and crisp with a bright, red hue and minimal haze, balancing fruity hops and sweet malts in its aroma. A fresh take on Camden’s classic Hells, the brewery made a few subs to give the beer its distinctive colour and red fruit flavours, switching its usual Hells hops for a punchy US hop Idaho 7.

With an ABV of 4.8%, North London is Red Lager has a fuller malt profile and crisp lager finish, alongside a round bitterness balancing malt character. Available in Camden’s larger 440ml can format, the label design was created by fellow Gooner, and illustrator, Texas Blue Maragh.

Holly Gibson, Head of Brand Experience & Partnerships at Camden Town Brewery, said: “We have loved working with Arsenal over the past four years and we are really proud of what we have achieved so far. Who doesn’t love highlights? We’ve saved millions of cups from landfill by introducing a re-usable cup scheme (the first of its kind in the Premier League), we teamed up with David Seaman to serve fresh pints, we brewed a double strength Camden Hells Lager to celebrate 50 years since Arsenal’s double, we supported Arsenal in achieving the record number of ticket sales and attendees to the WSL, and so much more. Cheers to the Gunners and roll on next season!”

Arsenal’s Chief Commercial Officer, Juliet Slot, said: “We’re excited to extend our partnership with our neighbours and fellow Arsenal supporters at Camden Town Brewery. The atmosphere at Emirates Stadium has been fantastic this season and Camden beer has become an important part of the matchday experience for our passionate supporters.

“We’ve already achieved so much together in areas such as sustainability and supporter engagement, and the launch of the new ‘North London is Red Lager’ is a fantastic way to kick off our renewed commitment as we move forward together.”

And for those feeling lucky, Camden will be giving back to Arsenal supporters by giving away five pairs of tickets to Arsenal’s kick-off Premier League game next season to Gooners and purchasers of the North London is Red Lager. So, lucky lager lovers could be on their way to the Emirates very soon.

North London is Red Lager is available to purchase in 440ml cans for £6 for two cans exclusively via the Camden Webshop for a limited time only.
