Actimel unveils its first plant based range

Actimel, dairy drinks brand from Danone, has introduced its first plant-based range, with the new 100% Dairy Free Actimel shots.

The new recipe uses a blend of roasted almonds and oats along with two different strains of live cultures, including Actimel’s own L. Casei, and essential vitamins D and B6.

The range is also low in sugar, uses no preservatives, colours or artificial flavours and is suitable for vegans. As with Actimel’s other ranges, the 100% Dairy Free bottle is also recyclable.

“We’re really excited to bring our decades of experience in live cultures and immune support to the plant-based world with the launch of our Actimel 100% Dairy Free shots,” commented Sarah Dossett, marketing director at Danone Essential Dairy & Plant-Based UK & Ireland.

“We know that many people are looking for options that fit their flexitarian diet, and we wanted to offer them the Actimel they know and love in both dairy and dairy-free options.”

Available in two flavours, Blueberry and Mango & Passion Fruit, Actimel 100% Dairy Free comes with an RRP of £2.99 for a pack of six.

Launched into Asda and Waitrose, the product will have a wider roll out later this year. It will be supported by digital activations on social media as of mid-September, alongside retail support both in-store and online.
