’Tis the season of National Lottery with festive draws and ’12 Pays Of Christmas’

Camelot, operator of The National Lottery, is expecting huge sales boosts for National Lottery retailers across the month of December thanks to three special bumper jackpot draws and a range of festive Scratchcards to celebrate the Christmas season.

First in the trio of mega jackpot draws will be the estimated £173 million EuroMillions Super Jackpot draw this Friday (1 December), which is expected to provide as much as an 83 per cent sales uplift for National Lottery retailers.

Helping shop tills jingle all the way into the New Year will be two £15 million “Must Be Won” Lotto draws on Saturday 23 and Saturday 30 December, which could net National Lottery retailers up to 85 per cent in boosted sales – in addition to increased footfall around the draws.

To help drive sales in retail, The National Lottery’s award-winning Christmas advertising campaign returns this year after a hugely successful first outing last year, while special POS for the draws has already started landing in stores – the first of which should already be sited ahead of Friday’s massive EuroMillions draw.

As an added incentive to help National Lottery retailers get their POS sparkling, Camelot is also doubling retailer rewards in December – giving them the opportunity to earn even more for uploading pictures of their Christmas POS. This is alongside the chance of winning one of the big quarterly prizes, including the grand prize of £10,000 – which would be sure to start 2024 off with a bang!

’Tis the season of National Lottery with festive draws and '12 Pays Of Christmas'

The Christmas spirit continues in store with The National Lottery’s range of festive Scratchcards, which are fun and safe Christmas gifts that make for the ideal Christmas card fillers or last-minute presents. From the two £5 games – “Merry Millionaire” with a top prize of £1 million, and “12 Pays Of Christmas” with £100k a month for a year on offer – to a £3 “Festive Fortune” game with a fantastic top prize of £300,000 and the £2 “Jolly 7s” game with £100,000 up for grabs, there’s something for every player. In addition, POS with special metallic ink has been landing in stores since November to promote the “£250,000 Gold” Scratchcard as a fantastic Christmas gift to shoppers.

“We have an incredible series of big draws lined up in December, starting with an enormous EuroMillions jackpot draw on Friday,” said Camelot’s Retail Director, Alex Green. “These will be sure to have customers coming into stores to buy a ticket for their chance of becoming a multi-millionaire at Christmas. We’ll also be supporting retail sales with some special POS for the big Lotto and EuroMillions draws, as well as sparkling POS for the Gold Scratchcard which is particularly eye-catching.

“Retailers can also do a number of things to help drive those extra sales too, including talking to customers about the big draws and making sure POS is sited prominently – something that can earn them double rewards in December. They can also suggest buying a Scratchcard at the till, as a gift or as an extra purchase to go with their EuroMillions or Lotto ticket. All this will help towards the £30 million raised each and every week by National Lottery players for Good Causes.”
