Retail trade union Usdaw said its president Jane Jones has been re-elected unopposed for a second term.

The three-year term will start after the union’s annual delegate meeting which takes place from 28 April to 1 May in Blackpool’s Winter Gardens.

Jones, from Mold in North Wales, works for Tesco as a checkout supervisor and has served on Usdaw’s national executive council since 2017.

“Congratulations to Jane on her re-election as Usdaw President. I look forward to continuing to work with her on the challenges our members face in the midst of a cost of living crisis, along with an epidemic of retail crime,” Paddy Lillis, Usdaw general secretary, said.

“Jane works on the frontline of retail, has first-hand knowledge of the issues and will continue to be a strong voice at the head of Usdaw speaking up for our members.”
