Swindon retailer wins £10k In Camelot quarterly prize draw

National Lottery retailer Narendra Patel, who owns Sherborne News in Swindon, has taken home the huge £10k prize in Camelot’s latest Site, Stock, Sell online quarterly prize draw.

Narendra maintained high in-store standards for the sale of National Lottery products across all three months of the quarter, giving him automatic entry into the big draw – which has a £20k prize pool, with one £10k top prize and 10 £1k prizes up for grabs each quarter.

“I was shocked and excited when I found out I’d won the top prize,” said Narendra. “We’re so glad to have won and, of course, very happy. The money will be a huge help.

“I’ll be giving 10 per cent to charity and then we’ll maybe go on holiday,” he continued. “We haven’t had a holiday for a very long time and I’d really like to go to India or America.”

The following retailers each won £1,000 in the latest quarterly draw:

    · Vinay Patel of Wood Lane Stores in Nottingham

    · Lynn Turnbull of R & L Winestores in Houghton-le-Spring

    · Anthony Ruane of Poole Convenience Store in Poole

    · James Neary of Neary’s in Rossendale

    · Zhicheng Liu of No. 47 in Hawick

    · Nitesh Mehta of 19 Twenties in Preston

    · Ian Phipps of I Phipps in Bolton

    · Ronald Black of JR Convenience Store in Belfast

    · Nimeshkumar Patel of Booze N News Store in Leeds

    · Michelle Shiers of The Convenience Store in Liverpool

“Well done to all our winners this quarter, and thank you for selling The National Lottery to such high standards,” said Camelot’s Retail Director, Alex Green. “Each extra sale you make from things like keeping Scratchcard dispensers full and having up-to-date POS, for example, helps raise even more for National Lottery Good Causes. And this adds to the more than £30 million raised by National Lottery players each and every week.”

Among the winners, Vinay Patel commented: “I’ll be spending some of the prize on my children. My son’s 21st birthday is coming up this month too, so I’ll be able to buy him an extra gift.” Ian Phipps said: “I’m very excited and really pleased to have won this quarter. Business is tough at the moment, and the money will really help during these hard times. It’ll allow me to treat the family.”
