    Snappy Shopper expands across Newcastle

Home delivery app Snappy Shopper has announced the expansion of its coverage across Newcastle and beyond.

To mark the expansion, Snappy Shopper and its Newcastle partners are offering new customers £14 off their first shop, with a minimum spend of £15 till 23 April, redeemable in all stores live on the Snappy Shopper app across Newcastle and outlying towns.

Snappy Shopper’s support of its partnering stores will also see a number of other high-profile activations over the coming weeks to help connect and support the wider community. With activations including offering one penny surf and comfort bundles on Tuesday, 25 April, to ensure essential items are affordable for their customers despite rising costs, as well as another trademark ‘Snappy Shopper Bundle’ in the reckoning over the next coming weeks.

“As a local community store, it’s important to me that I’m able to offer local grocery delivery to support those who aren’t able to get out and about as easily as others, without putting a strain on their finances. Snappy Shopper allows me to do just that, with the same prices on the app as in-store,” David Brown, of One Stop Crawcrook, said.

“We’re currently offering 99p delivery within a mile of the store and of course, new customers who haven’t tried the app can get £14 off their first shop – an incredible saving when things are tight!”

Danny Narang, of Arlington Convenience Store, added: “Offering home delivery on the Snappy Shopper app has made a huge difference to many of our customers, both new and existing. As new parents ourselves, my wife and I understand how tricky it can be to get out and about when the little ones are asleep – our delivery service offers essentials delivered in under an hour, to make everyday tasks that little bit easier! Keep your eyes peeled for more cost-saving promotions, only on the app, over the next few weeks!”

Mike Callachan, Snappy Shopper chief executive, said: “Due to the challenging economic climate at present, both retailers and their customers are being hit with rising costs unlike anything we’ve seen in recent years. Convenience stores were the ones who saw us through COVID and have been the heart of our communities for decades, so I believe we have a duty to support local businesses at this time.

“On the flipside, our technology enables retailers to offer home delivery which doesn’t break the bank for their customers, with retailers able to provide items online at the same price as in-store. I’ve been overwhelmed by the number of local stores who have jumped at the chance to get on board with our penny bundles for customers and local charity initiatives. Clearly, the retailers of Newcastle and the surrounding towns have big hearts and I’m proud to be able to support them with our technology.”
