Kervan Gida calls on industry to help raise £50K for Turkey, Syria quake victims

The family behind Turkish confectioner, Kervan Gida UK – and owners of confectionery brand Bebeto – is on a mission to raise £50,000 to support those affected by the recent earthquakes in Turkey and Syria.

Following the devastating earthquakes that hit these regions from Monday 6 February 2023, over 47,000 people have tragically lost their lives. Many millions of people living in the affected area are now in urgent need of shelter, food, and medical aid.

Kervan Gida UK MD, Enes Basar, is calling on the industry to come together and support this vital cause so close to the family’s, and to the business’, heart. “We would be incredibly grateful for whatever donations and awareness you can help us gather,” he said. “To help contributions go further, Kervan Gida will be matching these generous donations, up to a total of £30,000.”

The family-owned business was deeply affected by the disaster and its unrelenting impact across the regions. Kervan responded quickly, supporting various local charities who were offering emergency support on the ground. As the devastation continues though, the business will use the money raised to get directly involved and purchase essential food and supplies, delivering these resources to the people who need them most.

Donations can be made via a dedicated Go Fund Me page, set up by the sugar confectionery brand.
