A number of popular Christmas food products have been labelled unsafe and are being recalled, after it was found some could contain small pieces of plastic, metal or allergy ingredients not listed on the label. The Food Standards Agency (FSA) has asked shoppers to return any affected foods as soon as possible.

Among the products are fish, meat, cheese, cake and mince pies as well as baby food, rice and cookie mix, with a “do not eat” warning issued. People are asked to check their recent purchases to make sure they have not bought any of the affected products.

Among list of recalled products issued by FSA are Korea Foods Company Ltd is recalling Sunshine in the Morning drink, Ella’s Kitchen is recalling Banana Multigrain Baby Rice, Horgan’s Delicatessen Supplies’ Le Rustique le Bon Brie and Le Rustique Camembert from Northern Ireland stores, Almondy AB is recalling Almondy Almond cake with Daim and Baked In’s Chocolate Orange Cookie Mix.

Shoppers have been urged to check if they have recently bought any of the products and are advised to take them back to the store they bought it from if they have it still freezers or kitchen cupboards.

While most products included in the list has missed mentioning an ingredient on the label, Almondy AB is recalling Almondy Almond cake with Daim because a metal piece has been found in the product which makes it unsafe to eat.
