Filco Supermarkets strengthens business with EDGEPoS

Nine Filco Supermarkets branded convenience stores have had new EDGEPoS systems installed under a partnership between Filco Supermarkets and Henderson Technology.

The partnership involved installation of the EDGEPoS platform at each of Filco’s stores and EDGEPoS Head Office at Llantwjit Major to allow full control of all nine stores from one central location.

The 36-lane project, including Head Office and Central Warehousing, took seven weeks to complete between October and November 2022.

Announcing the valued relationship, Darren Nickels, Retail Technology Operations Director at Henderson Technology, said: “After a competitive tender process, we are delighted to have been selected by Filco to roll out EDGEPoS across its nine NISA supplied stores.

“The experienced team at Filco were looking for a progressive, future-proof, c-store EPOS system that could integrate their supplier and operations database with their EPOS platform, while at the same time coping with the demands of their busy stores.

“EDGEPoS meets all these needs and our EDGEPoS Head Office system allows Filco to have full control and visibility of ordering, stock control, reporting and much more from one central location for all stores. This will allow Filco Supermarkets to offer more benefits to their shoppers, including Self-Checkout and the upcoming launch and integration of Gander.

“We are pleased that Filco has chosen EDGEPoS, and we are looking forward to a long and successful partnership over the years to come.”

Filco Supermarkets strengthens business with EDGEPoSFilco is a nine-store network based in South Wales. Operating under its own brand, the business employs more than 250 people and is a combination of transient and neighbourhood stores situated across the region.

“We needed to upgrade our systems and when we were introduced to Henderson Technology by C-Store Collective, we knew we made the right decision,” said Matthew Hunt, Director at Filco. “As well as the system being ideal for our needs, we have the comfort of knowing its origins are based in the convenience market, built by independent and company owned retail outlets for use in their own network.

“The project team ensured the smooth planning and transition as we rolled out the system to all nine stores. We look forward to using the system’s full capabilities and working with Henderson Technology for the duration of our agreement and beyond.”
