Parfetts is predicting record sales of beers, wines and spirits through the World Cup as more fans watch the matches at home. The employee-owned wholesaler has launched a trade show promotion to help retailers maximise margins during the competition, which runs from 20 November to 18 December. The trade show will see a wide range of offers on popular brands and key lines that consumers will shop for throughout the tournament.Retailers will also benefit from an expanded Parfetts Own Label range, Go Local, which provides retailers with high-quality products delivering consistently high PORs across relevant lines, including Lancer cider, Tideways and Don Carlos wine and Festini perry.Commenting on the promotion, Guy Swindell, joint managing director of Parfetts, said: “Some pundits are predicting the World Cup will generate extra sales worth £1.3bn if England manages to get through to the second round. So it’s a huge opportunity for our retailers, and we’ve put together a promotion that offers our lowest prices on a wide range of food and drink.”The trade show launches on Sunday, 13 November and runs until Saturday, 19 November. Parfetts is helping retailers attract more shoppers with a range of measures. It distributes promotional leaflets for free and runs extensive social media and digital marketing campaigns.Guy Swindell concluded: “We advise retailers to put themselves in the best position to win during the World Cup. Ensure that you take advantage of these offers and that stores feature promotions that are built around the shopper mission with link buys between alcohol and snacks. We also advise that a delivery partner will help drive revenue during matches.”
