    Bestway raises £2.05 million for Pakistan flood relief

    Bestway Group has successfully raised £2.05 million (US$2.3 million) to support the victims of the recent floods in Pakistan. 

    Bestway was organising a fun raising campaign in the wake of the natural calamity in Pakistan.  

    “We set ourselves an ambitious target to raise US$1.5million to help the aid the relief effort in the country. The great news is that in a few short weeks, we have raised a staggering US$2.3 million (£2.05 million),” Lord Choudrey CBE SI Pk, Chief Executive Bestway Group, told Asian Trader. 

    “This is a fantastic result, and I am incredibly humbled by what we have achieved collectively. On behalf of our founder Sir Anwar Pervez, OBE H Pk and the Board of Directors of Bestway Group, I thank you for your most generous support to for the victims of the recent floods in Pakistan.” 

    The fundraising event was held in London on the Sept 23. The event was attended by over 650 guests including the Lord Chancellor; the Deputy Governor State Bank of Pakistan; UK Cabinet Ministers; Members of Parliament; Captains of Industry; Diplomats and many more dignitaries.  

    Bestway’s team is lready on the ground in Pakistan, picking up pace in the relief effort and making progress by building homes and shelters for 5,000 families, providing usable and clean water for more than 100,000 individuals and providing food and medical supplies to over 20,000 people. 

    Raising the appeal for more funds to help Bestway “cross $3.0 million mark”, Lord Choudrey thanked every individual or corporate who has contributed, however large or small that contribution may have been to this appeal.   

    “It has far exceeded our target and will make an enormous difference as we look to help as many people on the ground as we possibly can.  

    “This is just the beginning of a long road to rehabilitation and reconstruction and I would very humbly request you to continue donating to this worthy cause,” he said.
