SGF announces new partnership with reverse vending specialist RVM Systems

Scottish Grocer’s Federation (SGF) has announced a new partnership with RVM Systems Ltd UK, a leading manufacturer and supplier of reverse vending and high-speed counting solutions to Deposit Return Scheme (DRS) markets across the world.

Headquartered in Sweden and operating across 35 global markets with offices in Scotland, the company supplies a wide range of reverse vending machines to suit all business types and needs, from compact standalone units to high-speed modular machines that can be bulk fed with multiple containers.

“I am delighted to welcome RVM Systems Ltd into the Federation,” Pete Cheema, SGF chief executive, said.

“The convenience sector operates in a hypercompetitive market place where customers demand high quality products at a competitive price but in enjoying these benefits want to know that they can do so in an environmentally responsible way. With the Scottish deposit return scheme scheduled to go live in August 2023, the expertise, experience and services offered by RVM Systems will greatly benefit convenience retailers so that they can receive and recycle the materials in scope in a secure and legally compliant way. We look forward to a long and successful partnership.”

Claudia Marshall, RVM Systems managing director, said: “We are thrilled to become a SGF Corporate Member and to support the convenience sector for a successful launch of the Scottish deposit return scheme.

“With our long-term experience from existing DRS markets and our high technology reverse vending machines, automating the process of collecting, recognising, sorting and storing of used beverage drink containers we deliver bespoke, efficient solutions and professional installations and service support. And we are also passionately helping to limit waste and protect the environment for future generations and contribute to a circular economy and more sustainable environment.”
