A shop worker in Glastonbury has left “shaken and distressed” after a man spat at them for asking to wear a mask.
The man entered the shop in Glastonbury High Street in Somerset and became verbally abusive when asked to wear a mask, said Avon and Somerset Police.
He spat at directly a member of staff upon being asked to leave.
Police have now released a CCTV image of a man who they wish to speak in connection with the incident.
He’s described as white, in his 40s or 50s, wearing a jacket, grey baseball cap and blue trousers or jeans.
The incident that took place between 9.30am and 10am on 15 December led to the store being closed for a deep clean.
