Co-op has assured shoppers that they are implementing in-store safety measures, such as face covering reminders and hand sanitising stations this Christmas as new Covid restrictions, due to rise in Omicron variant cases, come in force across England from today.
“In line with the previous and latest government guidance, we are continuing to maintain and implement in-store safety measures, such as face covering reminders and hand sanitising stations to keep our customers and colleagues protected,” Co-op CEO Steve Murrells wrote in a blog post.
He further added that stores are regularly cleaned with special focus on card payment devices. Along with that, there is traffic light entry systems in a number of stores to help customers maintain safe distances from other shoppers, he said.
Murrells has also reminded shoppers that if they feel safer shopping from home, they can use our online delivery service and “we’ll have your shopping delivered within 2 hours”.
“Given the latest Covid guidelines announcement, I also wanted to reassure you that we are continuing to ensure we do our best to keep our colleagues, customers and members safe and protected across all our stores and funeral homes.
