Cops are looking for three violent young men wanted in connection with an attempted armed robbery in a convenience store in Aberdeen on Monday (20), stated recent local reports.

Three men entered a Gaitside Stores premises on Gaitside Drive in the Garthdee area just before 8pm on Monday (20) and demanded cash. As per reports, one of the men had a knife

The men ordered a member of staff to hand over money but left empty handed when the employee refused, said the reports, adding that the shop worker then managed to get the yobs out of the store.

The suspects are described as young males with slim builds, wearing dark coloured clothing and face coverings. One man was in a grey coloured hooded jumper and black trousers as one suspect also spoke with a local accent, said the reports.

After leaving the store the suspects fled on foot in the direction of Inchbrae Terrace, Aberdeen.

“Officers carried out a thorough search of the area and we are seeking any witnesses to the incident to come forward,” Detective Sergeant Kirsten Douglas said.

“We believe at least one of the men spoke with a local accent and we’d ask anyone who saw any suspicious behaviour around the Garthdee area on Monday to report this to officers so that we can investigate.”
