A new Premier convenience store has opened in Ayston Road in Uppingham on Wednesday (25).
The owner of the new store, Vithiya Charmelan, previously used to run a shop in Middlesbrough but was keen to move away from the area to start a family, as per local reports.
“We wanted to move down south and when we came to see the shop,” Charmelan told the outlet. “We loved the area and the people were friendly. I could picture us bringing up a family here.”
The new store stocks fresh food, drinks, household items and exclusive American candles along with offering Paypoint, Payzone and parcel services.
Vithiya added: “We’ve got everything for people to do a full shop.”
