Schloss Wachenheim Group scoops up alcohol free wine brand Eisberg

Schloss Wachenheim Group, one of the largest sparkling wine producers in Europe, has acquired Eisberg, the UK’s leading range of alcohol free wines.

The acquisition marks the entry of Schloss Wachenheim, based in Trier, Germany, into both the UK and the growing alcohol free drinks market.

“The alcohol free drinks market has grown considerably over the last few years. According to data from Nielsen, the alcohol free wine category increased £4.4m last year,” commented Oliver Gloden, chief executive at Schloss Wachenheim AG.

“We’re confident it will continue to grow well into the future, so we’re incredibly excited to be expanding into the market with Eisberg’s popular range of alcohol free wines. With extensive experience in the no- and low-alcohol wine market, and as the producer of Eisberg wines for more than 20 years, this acquisition made perfect sense for us.”

Previously owned by Halewood Artisanal Spirits, Eisberg has been produced by Schloss Wachenheim since 2000. The brand will join the group’s existing portfolio of sparkling and semi-sparkling wines, including LIGHT live, the market leader for alcohol free in Germany.

Eisberg has a range of five still wines, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Rosé, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon,  and two sparkling wines, Sparkling Blanc and Sparkling Rosé.
