    Thousands of pounds of cigarettes, alcohol and scratchcards stolen from Radford c-store

    Thousands of pounds worth of cigarettes, alcohol and scratchcards were stolen during a break-in at a convenience store in Radford, Nottingham.

    The incident happened in Bentinck Road, Radford, between 2.50am and 4.20am on Tuesday morning last week.

    Police, who were called shortly afterwards, charged Callum Fearon, 29, of London Road, Nottingham with burglary in connection with the alleged incident.

    Fearon appeared at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on Saturday and was remanded in custody. He is set to appear at Nottingham Crown Court on 2 August.

    Sergeant Liz Johnson, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Burglaries like this cause considerable cost and inconvenience to local businesses and are taken extremely seriously by Nottinghamshire Police. That’s why we have dedicated teams of detectives on hand to investigate every report we receive.”
