Staff threatened with knives in ‘frightening’ Coalville store robbery

The staff at a Coalville store was threatened with knives during a robbery on Saturday night.

The incident happened at around 10.30pm on 13 March at the store in Broom Leys Road.

“This was a particularly frightening experience for the staff who thankfully were not left physically injured,” said Detective Constable Berni Rowlson of Leicestershire Police, the investigating officer.

It was reported three men had entered the premises and threatened the staff with knives.

Detectives have issued an appeal for information.

The suspects, all described as wearing dark clothing and face masks, left the store with a quantity of cigarettes, alcohol and cash before making off.

“As our investigation progresses, I would to appeal to anyone who has any information about the robbery to contact us. Did you see someone in the area acting suspiciously before the incident took place? Or maybe you saw the men leaving the area after and the direction they went,” Rowlson said.

“Any information you have could be of some benefit to our enquiries so please get in touch with us.”
