    Del Monte launches ‘Fruitball Cup’

Del Monte has announced the launch of a new digital campaign, Fruitball Cup 2020, which aims to deliver the passion of football this summer.

The campaign, set to kick off this week on Facebook & Instagram, will see a ‘friendly’ competition between European nations represented by “Fruitball” players – Del Monte Europe’s range of products, including the cans of Del Monte Pineapple Slices and Peach Slices.

The brand is encouraging the fans and followers to support their own nations during the games through to the final. Exciting prizes will be rewarded to the most enthusiastic and creative fans, including a special sponsorship deal for an amateur football club.

Thierry Montange, marketing director at Del Monte Europe & Africa, said: “We are very excited to launch this fun, exciting and interactive competition that will play to the needs of sporting fans around the world who are seeking activities and excitement to replace the cancelled events of 2020”.

Alongside the social media campaign, Del Monte has also partnered with online football magazine Mundial, to not only promote the fun and engaging activity, but to also offer its fans the chance to win a split of the €10,000 prize fund, for three grassroots football teams.

To enter, consumers will need to follow Mundial (@mundialmag) and Del Monte Europe (@delmonteeurope), suggest names for the “Fruitballers” and vote for the winners of each of the matches.

Winners will be announced across both channels on 6 August.
