PayPoint waives annual fee increase; launches campaign to honour retailers

PayPoint has announced a range of new measures to support retailers during the COVID-19 pandemic, including fee increase waivers and a campaign to celebrate Retail Heroes.

The company said it will waive the yearly inflation increase to service fees, which will now remain consistent with last year’s amounts.

The measure will be coupled with a permanent move to service fee billing in arrears, benefitting retailers’ monthly cash flows, the firm said.

PayPoint is also giving those retailers who are forced to close their stores the option to claim a service fee refund for the closure period.

PayPoint’s Retail Heroes campaign will be launched this month to reward those going above and beyond for their community. The winning retailers will receive a certificate and a £500 donation to a charity of their choice, besides being showcased across PayPoint’s social media channels.

PayPoint signs new partnership deal with Deliveroo

The company has also announced a £25,000 contribution to the NFRN COVID-19 Hardship Fund which provides immediate aid to independent retailers whose businesses have been severely affected by the virus outbreak.

PayPoint recently announced a new partnership with online food delivery platform Deliveroo, allowing retailers to apply for fast-track access to the Deliveroo system.

Nick Wiles, executive chairman of PayPoint, said: “Now more than ever, we are looking at how we can help our retailers and partners transform convenience and provide significant, safe, and sustainable services to UK communities. We’re proud to launch these new partnerships, initiatives, and campaigns to provide assistance during this unique and challenging time.”
