Fed wins two prestigious national awards

The Federation of Independent Retailers (the Fed) has scooped two awards at this year’s prestigious Trade Association Forum Awards.

The retail organisation won Best Association/Supplier Partnership award for the work undertaken to promote PayPoint’s Park Super Agents scheme to members, while business development manager Nathan Hall was named Rising Star.

The Fed’s Safe, Secure, Supported campaign, which calls on the government to give grants of £1,500 to enable independent retailers to beef up their security systems, was shortlisted in the Media Campaign of the Year category.

“I am thrilled and proud that the Fed has won two such prestigious awards and was shortlisted for a third,” said National President Muntazir Dipoti. “This is testament to the hard work, passion and dedication that everyone at the Fed brings day in, day out.

Nathan Hall – “a rising star”

“A special congratulations to Nathan for his outstanding achievement in winning the Rising Star award. It is great to see his dedication, creativity and commitment has been recognised nationally.”

Now in their 21st year, the Trade Association Forum (TAF) Awards 2024 are supported by the Department of Business and Trade, and recognise excellence, innovation and best practice among trade associations in the UK. The ceremony took place on February 22 at London’s Connaught Rooms.

TAF chief executive Emily Wallace, who was one of the head judges on the panel, said: “The partnership between PayPoint and the Fed is an example of a brilliantly executed win-win. The judges loved how the Fed and PayPoint had worked together and supported each other to deliver success and were impressed by the immediate results that it had brought in membership growth.”

Steve O’Neill, PayPoint’s corporate affairs and marketing director, said: “This win is a culmination of all the hard work and collaboration between PayPoint and the Fed in the last year. Working together, we’ve launched another opportunity to earn for Fed members and expanded another important service that helps over 350,000 families to spread the cost of Christmas every year, by allowing them to manage their household budgets better through the rising costs of living and boost their spending power through regular offers and discounts.”

Meanwhile, describing Nathan as “one to watch,” Ms Wallace added: “The impact he has had on the Fed was clearly evident. What an asset to the Association.”
