Tenderstem launches first ever broccoli flavoured chocolates in time for Valentine’s Day

Tenderstem x Chococo launches worlds first Tender-Choc

Lovers are set to swoon this Valentine’s Day with the launch of an unusually romantic gift; Tenderstem-infused chocolates. Named Tender-Choc, people can now show their partners, loved ones, or even crushes, how tender they make you feel.

Tenderstem® broccoli has dared to marry its flavours with premium British chocolatier, Chococo, for this limited-edition, divisive new gift. The exciting vegetable-flavoured treated was unveiled to the world after a photo was posted on the @NewFoodsUK Instagram account, which has over 319,000 followers.

And it seems fans were intrigued by the new creation. The post has attracted over 500 likes in the past 12 hours, with fans flocking to the comment section to share their thoughts on the unusual treat.

Follower @HannahLily vowed to try it straight away, declaring: “Definitely want to try the Tenderchoc” and @IssiWard said “this was made for me”.

Another, @ZackGreen1705 added: “The mrs will love this one”

Others were left baffled by the Tender-choc. @RhiRichardson said: “Bit early for April Fools…”

And @TheSearchOfHappiness is clearly not a fan, posting: “I love broccoli. I love chocolate. But this is a clear no no no”

Each box of Tender-Choc contains nine handcrafted 72 per cent Ecuador origin dark chocolates, filled with an aptly green ganache made of real Tenderstem blended with fresh Dorset cream, and the addition of almond notes for a delectable but undoubtedly unique taste. The tender treats are hand-topped with artistic green splatters of chocolate, playfully nodding at the Tenderstem infusion within.

The combination of Tenderstem’s sweet and nutty notes coupled with the rich cream and indulgent single origin dark chocolate tang, makes for a whirlwind (romance) of flavours – a creative culinary delight destined to tantalise tastebuds and set sparks flying.

Together making the perfect companions, Tenderstem partnered with renowned UK-based independent artisan chocolatier, Chococo to handcraft these quality chocolates. Clearly, they are both equally brave and bold enough to take the plunge – it seems love really does make you do crazy things.

David Samuels, Brand Director at Tenderstem comments: “Love knows no bounds, and neither does flavour. This Valentine’s Day, we wanted to offer something truly special and unexpected for lovebirds, to allow Brits to reflect their unique and special feelings with a unique and special gift.

“We are thrilled to have joined forces with Chococo for this truly one-off offering and inject some classic Tenderstem® cheekiness into the annual day of romance.”

Claire Burnet, Co-founder of Chococo comments, “This partnership has been in the works for just under a year, so we are thrilled to be finally announcing our very unique collaboration. Initially, we were surprised by the prospect of this partnership, but we were excited about the possibilities of using an ingredient as versatile as Tenderstem®.

“At Chococo, we have been handcrafting award-winning chocolates since 2002. Celebrating the finest, single origin, ethical chocolates and incredible flavours is at the core of what we do, so we are proud to work with one of the UK’s most well-known vegetables and looking forward to revealing these unusual chocolates to the nation’s lovers!”
