Two Warrington retailers join forces to provide meals for homeless people

Nisa Dallam Stores and Nisa Locking Stumps have teamed up to donate £500 each to the Guru Nanak Temple to provide 1,500 hot meals for homeless people in Warrington throughout the winter months.

The donations have been made through Nisa’s Making a Difference Locally (MADL) charity, as part of its Heart of the Community winter warmers initiative, which supports local communities across the UK this winter.

The meals will be prepared and distributed every Sunday at the Guru Nanak Temple.

“We are proud to support the Guru Nanak Temple in their efforts to provide meals for homeless people in our community. Food is a basic need, and we are committed to helping those in need,” Mike Sohal of Nisa Dallam Stores said.

Kuldeep Dhillon of Nisa Locking Stumps added: “We are grateful to Making a Difference Locally for awarding us this grant. We are committed to making a difference in our community and there is no greater cause this winter than providing warm food for those who need it most.”

Kate Carroll, head of charity at Nisa, said: “It is wonderful to see two passionate community retailers supporting their community in this way, not only through a cash donation but helping with food preparation. Both stores are community assets, and this funding will help a lot of people throughout the tough winter months.”
